Positive:
1) small fits the hand well
2) the screen is easy to read and understand
3) I love how it tracks your movements its not jumpy. I have used some other gps that just don't seem to track well
4) I got the 500 for free My son also got his 500 for free. We won them through a caching event that Montana had going here in Minnesota

Negative:
1) the battery life on the 500 is kind of short so I get batteries made for electronic devices and that seems to help
2) if I want to do a down load from the pc to the 500 I have to get a memory card
3) If I could change the pc hook up to a more plug and play that would be better
