daphm and I did The Trap in Budapest, Hungary. When we did it there was just the one. In looking up the web site for this comment I see they have expanded all over Europe. It was a lot of fun!

They have three rooms which you must work your way through by solving puzzles in an hour. The facility had two sets of rooms so you could do it twice there without being spoiled.

We made it about halfway before our briefcase exploded. Our geocaching puzzle solving skills definitely helped us. The operator told us afterwards that it is typically difficult for teams of two to finish. Teams of six and more also struggle to finish because they keep getting in each others’ way. Teams of four are optimal.

After we escaped the Trap we found http://coord.info/GC3YJK5 then had lunch in a wonderful sidewalk cafe on the square. Best fresh squeezed lemonade ever!!

A new escape room recently opened here in Salt Lake City http://mysteryescaperoom.com/ We are looking forward to checking it out. This time we plan to bring a few geocaching buddies with us to help.

I looked up the web site then forget to include it http://trap.hu/

It was a lot cheaper in Europe. We paid the equivalent of $40 for the experience. The one in Salt Lake costs $30 per person and you go in with strangers. You can get a discount if you rent the entire room (bring 12 people), then it’s 18.75 per person.

That’s awesome! Thanks for sharing your experience. This sounds really fun to do.

Sonny, let me get this straight…do you really not have any zip-ties in your geocaching tool kit? Why did you need wire?

    • Sonny February 24, 2015 at 2:58 pm #

I should carry zip ties, but no, I don’t currently have them. In this case, the wire was actually a better choice because the original zip tie failed and I think the wire will last much longer.
