On the question about puzzles, there is a field puzzle attribute that can be added to a traditional cache, which is specifically for those type of caches that are, well, field puzzles. 🙂 Thanks for your show. Keep on cachin’!

Regarding field puzzles: Last year I asked a reviewer why a cache that required solving a puzzle (which for most people required a computer at home) was published as a traditional. He said it was because the cache was located at the posted coords and only required a puzzle solution to access the log book. He said that geocaching HQ defines that as a traditional with a field puzzle attribute.
But, last month a cache was published near me that was at the posted coords and required solving a maze to get the log out, and it was published as a puzzle cache (also with a field puzzle attribute). There seems to be differing opinions among reviewers regarding field puzzle ‘puzzle’ caches…err, I mean field puzzle ‘traditional’ caches.
Good point. I would say homework = mystery and work in the field = traditional.
Love the new trail mapping update. It’s helpful when exploring established trails that no one seems to have a map for anymore, even the locals.
Unusual tool: bicycle. I have used it today to get a cache 10 feet high in a tree. I was on bike there anyway.
