Show 904.0: Retro/Rewind: Flipping the “Big Blue Switch”

On our geocaching podcast today, we have a retro-rewind-relisten-resurrection show where we share some GEMS from prior shows. This time, we go back to show 600 in 2017 and a very special interview where you’ll hear from the guy who was responsible for “flipping the blue switch” on May 2, 2000. We also have feedback on GSAK and a Mac, the new GeoGuessr Challenge and surprise souvenir and much more.

When I was in middle school, our outdoor education teacher set up a geocache game in our school field using film canisters and handheld gps devices. Because my cohort had been introduced to the game, there were stories a about students who found one near the high school we wound up in and I once found a geocache in a federal park while I was on a trip with my family during high school. This was all before I’d known to make an account on the website and these caches are long gone, but I would have absolutely logged them, and shared that they were lucky finds in my log
