Refreshing the game board! Absolutely! It’s been sort of a negative idea to suggest a cache needs to be archived using the “needs archived” cache. People have been afraid to use the tag for fear of drawing the ire of the cache owner, and that has happened! I have been archiving a lot of my caches, mostly because I moved too far from them to maintain them. Some of them I have been really fond of, too, especially my puzzles. So, this year I’m dedicated to place more new caches and retire my older ones. Even if some of the older caches have great value to the community, after a while, their find rate diminishes, too. Thanks for the great interview. I totally agree with refreshing the game board.

  I think this was the best part of the show for me too. Let’s stop throwing down and keeping caches alive just to keep them alive. Refresh the board!

Thank you for very good show & all the best to future episodes! This one was packed with lot of interesting topics. Last message from Bryan, to refresh the game board resonates with me too. I’m owner with many caches hidden in 2005 – 10, maintaining them the best I can .. and I will continue to do so. But some of them are surely blocking new ideas, so I will consider clearing those which are not so popular or visited anymore – to refresh the map a bit again. I will also communicate this idea locally. Our geocachers may initially hesitate, because it is just human nature, to protect the history & legacy. But I can see some shuffling and refreshing possible & positive.
