Sometimes you just need a new creative geocache idea, a dash of inspiration, a different thought. You've hidden ammo cans (love those!), lock-n-lock containers (great choice), bison tubes (sometimes you have to hide a micro), but now you want to try something else. Have you ever seen a display of creative geocache containers at a geocaching event? Do you even remember geocaching events?!

You might look at many of the containers and think "where on earth would I hide something like that?!" But then again, you might see something that sparks your imagination.

It's fascinating to see what other people have used to fashion a geocache container! Anything that can at least hold a log sheet inside, and that would be appropriate to hide in a certain location will work as a geocache.

I think that the more unique and even unusual geocache containers you see, the more creativity will be unleashed inside of YOU to come up with something great.

Container Guidelines

Now, it probably goes without saying, but you definitely need to think about the following points when crafting your geocache.

• Weather-proofing - at least the inner container that contains the log sheet should be able to withstand the weather
• Durability - creativity is great, but if your container falls apart after a few dozen geocachers handle it, then it's not a good container
• Appropriate location for whatever the container is (let's not leave things laying around that might be thought of as trash)
• Size - what is the best size for the location you will hide the container
