My thoughts on Vituals requiring a pic with GPSr. Most smart phones pics have details about the pic. Maybe a screen shot of the Pic details would work. It has a time and date stamp, plus most include gps location of the pic. Just a thought.

An idea for the picture for the virtual cache with the GPSR in hand.

Excellent suggestion from Sonny. I do the same thing. When this is really necessary, I make a picture with a mirror. And actually I use the telescopic mirror that I have always with me, I never had a problem with that. Otherwise I just make a selfie to show that I was really there.

I haven’t found 20,000 caches, but I have found over 2,000 caches, all with my iphone. I’ve never run into trouble with a CO who hasn’t accepted my selfie or thumbs up. But I feel like if a cacher from 15 years ago were to invent a time machine, come forward in time to now, and hear your episode, all these suggestions of printing pics of GPSr’s is just teaching newbie (time traveling) geocachers how to cheat. Actually, I feel like all of these suggestions of GPS proxies are still cheating, time travel aside. My phone is my GPS unit. I often get my friends to take my pic with me holding it up if the description says I need a pic with my GPSr. If I’m alone, a selfie or thumbs up will have to do. But if you really feel the need to game the system by proxy, it seems like you could find a cheap garage sale kids cell phone, empty phone case, or old cell phone you never use anymore to hold up, as that would be a bit more realistic than a piece of paper printed out from the internet, as it would give it depth and dimension to the fake unit.

I can’t seem to find the list of the other podcasts that Sonny like to listen to. I thought I’d check some out. Can you tell me what they were again?

Thanks for the list! Might I recommend “The Way I heard it,” by Mike Rowe.
