I grabbed a cache today on my ride home from a pumpkin patch and thought about this episode. Our baby was asleep because the vehicle was moving and we had about 30 minutes before she would need to be fed, but I had also been itching to log this cache just outside of my regular commute. My solution: check the hint immediately. It was obvious enough that I knew it would be a quick find under a sign on a roundabout. My partner graciously agreed to let me out of the car to find and sign the logbook while she drove our 5-week-old in circles around the roundabout to keep her asleep.

One of the silliest ways I’ve gotten a smiley on the map, but thank goodness for the obvious hint that made it possible!
